"Sa ganang akin ay hindi maganda na yung ating mga lisensya ay magkakaroon ng bahid… Dole ang magbabantay- sa aming plano, ang resulta ay hinding hindi papasok sa PRC (For me, it will not be good if the license would be marred with deceit. In our plan, DOLE will be the proctor and the results of the exam will not be coursed through the PRC)," said Brion. -- If this is the case, then let's just DISSOLVE the Professional Regulations Commission all together! What does Mr. Brion want to prove, that the PRC is tainted with deceit and that every Filipino who has taken and passed their professional examination have done so with DECEIT? I beg to disagree with this Mr. Brion, whom I think has not been appointed to the Labor Department for his work but simply he's close to the President - "It's not what you know, it's who you know". I have taken this Board Examination more than once and to simply disregard the integrity of the Commission all out unethical. Many professionals does not want to experience the feeling of uncertainty after taking a Board Examination, knowing that one mistake could mean the halt of one's professional career. I just hope that Mr. Brion would watch the words that are coming out of his mouth with utmost care.

Where are the EDSA 1 crowd?
This is the question brought and asked by Bataan Archbishop Soc Villegas and perhaps is asked by most people. Well, the crowd is in their offices and working. The spirit of EDSA is still in them, they just don't want to share it with people they don't think deserve their time and attention.
A lot of the People Power crowd has been disappointed by many of the "major" characters in this history of our country. Just take a look at Rene Saguisag, what has he been doing now? Defending Joseph Estrada and other people that one doesn't need to have to know the full background of these people just to know what kind of individuals they are. Jejomar Binay? Come one, look at this guy, he's as corrupt as the traffic aid on the street. Gringo Honasan? He never got over the thought that he can never be the top honcho of the country, he'll always be the sideline maker. And Cory Aquino, she's admirable because she led the country into democracy but then again, she lost that "cory" magic because the people thinks it's not the right thing to do, especially during the times that they were asking for the resignation of the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Don't worry, the people are still here and they are listening and observing, if the need arises, they will be there to defend their country from unscrupulous persons.

Gringo, likely admin bet, wins rebellion case review
Looks like the hands of the Almighty administration is at it again, one doesn't need to be a Ph.D. in anything to figure out what's happening. Tsk tsk if only there are other options. Me, together with most filipinos, may not like how the present administration is doing things but then again, choose the lesser evil, since no one is much better at the moment. I'd rather have them at the helm than those allied with Joseph Estrada.
ADVANCES IN BUS TICKETING IN THE PHILIPPINES
It's been quite sometime since I used public transport to go to places. I got to try it again today and what a surprise. The bus conductor gave me a ticket that came from a portable printer attached to a Palm Zire 22! Forgive me if I sound really surprised because I never have thought that our local bus companies would adapt such technology.
Pasay community to get MMDA aid for access road
Pasay City Mayor Allan Panaligan said that the municipal government has come up with a plan to construct an alternative road connecting the Muslim community to the city proper.
Now this confuses me, these are informal settlers, meaning they're not supposed to be there. The government should remove them from that place and yet looks like the government is pampering these people. What's so special about them? It doesn't make sense that the local government will be spending money and manpower to build an access road to a group of individual wherein, in the future, the government will be spending more money removing them because they're not allowed in that place. Tsk tsk tsk, I see GRAFT and CORRUPTION precipitated by the up and coming election.
At a press conference yesterday, MMDA and the Department of Public Works and Highways officials agreed that the Pasay city government would shoulder the materials for the road's construction.
The local government will also provide the funds for streetlights, lampposts and electricity. Now this confuses me, these are informal settlers, meaning they're not supposed to be there. BAYAN? What are you?
I just curious as to what this group called BAYAN has to prove? They criticize the move of Endgardo Angara to join the Administration's "Unity Ticket" as an opportunists slate and yet they're mum on the more dangerous precedent of the opposition's UNO's slate of a Political Dynasty Party? Hmmm. Looks like they are starting to lose credit (well when did they ever gain it?)

UNLIMITED TEXTING AND AGING
With the advent of new technologies, it is imperative that society be able to adapt to these changes or suffer alienation. I am one of those people who tries and successfully cope up with this problem. But I guess, it will only be up to a certain point before things get out of hand.
A classic example is texting or internationally known as SMS. When this thing started, I had a Panasonic G-series phone (which doesn't have a caller ID that tells you the sender's name, just the number). I was using Globe Telecoms network (although I'm still using Globe up to now), and all one had to do was to pay the initial P200 fee and you're off to an unlimited texting spree, perhaps until one dies (that was then), and things change. A lot of promos and cellphones and cellphone technology after, we go to the present where everybody is complaining that Globe suddenly changed it's rules with regards to it's UNLIMITED texting promo. Well, it's hard to discuss about the repercussions of the change in the promo, but what I can say is, a lot of people has been enticed by the said add-on by these telecommunication companies, but for someone like me, a 32 year old father, this is not important anymore. I seldom text unless someone sends me one or it's really important to send a text message. Ever since these UNLIMITED texting promos, people now start to send and forward almost all spam or forwarded messages that they've received, unknowingly irritating those that receives them.
Perhaps there's a silver lining in the changing of the UNLIMITED texting scheme, and that is, less of those annoying, un-important SMSs. Happy texting everyone!

Of Dentists and Doctors
Today, Dentists nationwide celebrated the start of Dental Health Week. It was celebrated at the SM Mall of Asia with parade of Floats made from Colgate boxes and an inter-school Cheerleading contest. I am a Medical Doctor and some of you might wonder what am I doing in a predominantly Dentist affair.
I am a part-time faculty to one of the country's top dental school, the University of the East College of Dentistry. I teach medical subjects to students that will probably earn more than me in 6 years time. Anyways, the reason for this article is the difference I saw, between the organization of dentists and that of physicians.
The most obvious difference that I saw was that, the Philippine Dental Association, does a great job in telling the world (nation) that they exist! That they are there and they're part of every dentists lives, from the time these dentists enrolled in college until the time they are drilling holes into the dental caries of their patients. While the Philippine Medical Association gets only noticed, especially by budding physicians is when they would demand your membership during a young physicians oath taking after passing the local PRC board. How ironic isn't it?
As a physician, I have never heard of the PMA ever putting together a program, even though it only lasts for a day, as grand as what the PDA does every year. Yes we hold Medicine Week in our Medical Schools, but that's just it, it's all in thought, never are the Medical Students exposed neither are they oriented on who the officers of their soon-to-be "family". I never felt any rapport or any form of bonding between the professional Physicians and the Medical students during my Med School days. Heck, these so called mentor of ours even showed some distance, as if, we're not yet worthy of their attention. And yet, after passing the board exam, all things change and suddenly, you're part of a "family". So what gives my fellow Doctors?
It's really sad how a group of Dentists could muster such a bond between the young and the old while those in the profession considered by many as "next-to-God" does not even move a finger to let the soon-to-be MD's that "hey, we're here and let's celebrate this together". I don't get the Press
Now this confuses me, the press can say anything they want against anybody that they don’t like under the skirt of press freedom, but when that anybody fights back this time under the skirt of bill of rights, the press brands him/her as enemy of the press? I just don’t get it. It sure looks like a biased consideration to be. Tsk Tsk tsk
